A Can-Do CAD
Artist...
Friday, July 31st, 2009
People see the
word "Landscape" in my business name and immediately
(and to a certain extent justifiably come to the
conclusion that I am a "landscaper". Yes, I have
done a myriad of landscaping but my business is all
about woodworking for the landscape. When the time
came to redesign my web site I wanted my own set of
custom drawings that would help illustrate that I am
a woodworker and not a landscaper.
I performed
exhaustive searches on the internet for free clipart
but could not find anything that truly suited my
fastidious requirements. What I wanted was simple;
vector art drawings with a bit of wood color and
perhaps some wood grains thrown in for a more
realistic appeal. I had to have that "just
right" appearance...
One day it
dawned on me that the answer was right in front of
me all the time and I didn't even realize it. When
my shop was selected to be premiered in
Wood
Magazine's
America's Best Home Workshops, Volume 3, I
worked extensively with Roxanne (Roxy) LeMoine,
a freelance graphic artist and owner of
CAD ART Design & Illustration.

I sent Roxy an
e-mail one day asking about doing some vector
drawings for me and, well, the rest is history. Roxy
does an exceptional job transforming my ideas into
reality. She is exceptionally talented, easy to work
with and very prompt. True, I tend to trickle work
to her and she sneaks it in when she has time (a
schedule that suits me fine) but more often than not
my artwork is received much earlier then I predict.
Roxy uses a
variety of software suites including Design CAD,
Auto CAD, Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop and Corel
Draw to name a few. She is quite knowledgeable
with each platform and her work appears in many
books and magazines. I would highly recommend a
viewing of
her web site to see examples of her artistry.
If you have any
questions or comments about this blog entry please
do not hesitate to
send me an e-mail. Thanks and be
safe when working with tools!!!

Robert Burgoyne, also known as "Burgie",
has been doing woodworking for nearly 30

age in his grandfather's garage and
continued while working with his father
in construction. The hobby has now
become a business with Creative
Landscape Accents. Burgie builds
high quality woodworking projects for
the outdoors and also enjoys making
decorative accent pieces for inside the
house. While not working in his shop
doing woodworking Burgie enjoys
computers, restoring his old
