Turned Aspen Lamp

Turned from a dead Aspen log, the black trough once the home of burrowing insects is now the focal point of this beautifully proportioned lamp base. The natural scar left by nature provides contrast to the warm colors of the Aspen.  The swirling burl-like grain patterns of the Aspen and tight knots are brought to life by several coats of satin polyurethane.

Felt pads are added to the underside of the base to protect furniture and a common brass lamp hoop will accommodate any size lamp shade.  The lamp bulb holder has a standard 3-way rotary switch.
